H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission, had a fruitful exchange with H.E. Monday Semaya K. Kumba, Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan.

The discussions centered on advancing peace and security in South Sudan, with a particular focus on reinvigorating regional efforts to implement the Revitalised Peace Agreement. Both parties emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue and cooperation to ensure a stable and inclusive transition in the country.

The African Union remains dedicated to working closely with the government and people of South Sudan to achieve sustainable peace and prosperity.
