The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) of the AU Peace Fund convened its Second Statutory Meeting to review the status of the Peace Fund, assess ongoing Peace Fund-supported projects, and preparations for the upcoming Joint Retreat with the Board of Trustees (BoT), Executive Management Committee, and other governance stakeholders.

The meeting, which was held virtually on 1^st April 2026, reaffirmed the IEG’s central role in strengthening oversight, transparency, accountability, and independent evaluation across the Peace Fund’s operations. 

On behalf of H.E. the Chairperson of the Commission, H.E. Ambassador Selma Haddadi Malika met today with H.E. Mr. A. Selverajah, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore 🇸🇬 to Ethiopia and the African Union @MFAsg to discuss and strengthen the cooperation between the two sides.

The discussions focused on the candidature of Ambassador Rena Lee for Judge of the International Court of Justice (2027 - 2036) and taking advantage of the capacity building initiatives of Singapore for the African Union.

H.E. Ambassador Selma Malika Haddadi, @DCP_Haddadi Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, on behalf of the AU Commission Chairperson H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of #Uganda, at the AU Headquarters today 29th April 2026.

Key discussions highlighted continental priorities particularly, the critical component of the African Union-led peace support efforts in Somalia under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).
