The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf this afternoon chaired the Coordination Committee Meeting comprising the Chief Executives of the regional Economy Communities (RECs), Regional Mechanisms (RMs) & @NEPAD_Agency & @AfCFTA , in preparation for the 8th AU Mid-Year Review in El-Alamein, Egypt.
The RECs, RMs & AUDA-NEPAD & AFCFTA expressed appreciation to the Chairperson for sustained engagement, coordination & leadership in advancing continental priorities.

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this evening received H.E. Gedion Timothewos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
They discussed the ongoing AU institutional reforms, with particular emphasis on sustainable financing of the Union.
The Chairperson expressed his gratitude to H.E. William Ruto for his leadership as AU Reform Champion and briefed the Minister on progress achieved to date under his stewardship.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, met with Mr. James Swan, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Head of MONUSCO, and Mr. Huang Xia, United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Great Lakes Region. Their discussions focused on the situation in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and the broader Great Lakes region.
