The Permanent Delegation of the African Union in Geneva, in collaboration with the African Group, organized on 28 May 2026 the celebration of Africa Day in the Palais des Nations, in Geneva, which started by honouring the AU Anthem.

Cotonou, Benin — The African Union Commission (AUC), through its Labour, Employment and Migration Division (LEMD) under the Department of Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, organized a two-day consultation meeting on 19 and 20 May 2026 in Cotonou, Benin. The meeting brought together representatives from AU Member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), as well as GIZ and IOM to review the Draft Continental Strategy on Climate-Induced Mobility, gather technical inputs, and agree on next steps toward its finalization.

The African Union Commission (AUC), through its Department of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (ESTI), launched the STEM and TVET Pedagogical Innovation Bootcamp: Pedagogical Skills Enhancement for TVET Teachers in AU Member States in Kigali, Rwanda on 26 May 2026. The bootcamp brought together educators, policymakers, technical experts and industry stakeholders from across the continent to advance pedagogical innovation and strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems in Africa.
