H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The African Union Commission (AUC) organized from 27-29 in Kigali, Rwanda, a Regional Workshop on Cassava Value Chain Development, addressing problems of Processing and Access to Market by Small and Medium Industries. The main objective of the training was to improve the profitability and the competitiveness of SMEs through upgrading their capacity to effectively process and add value to Cassava.
Limbe, 31 October 2016: The African Union Commission (AUC) Department of Political Affairs through its Democracy and Electoral Assistance Unit has commenced a five-day Capacity Building Training program in French for Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) in Limbe, using the BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections) curriculum.

Arusha, 28 October, 2016: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) will hold its 43rd Ordinary Session from 31 October to 18 November 2016 at its seat in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania.
The Judges, among others, will examine about 70 applications and four Requests for Advisory Opinion.
The Judges will also hold the Seventh Extra-Ordinary Session from 28 November to 2 December.
