The sudden death of Amb. Amidou Toure occurred on Thursday 1 September 2016, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

African Union welcomes commitments to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030

Addis Ababa, 31 August 2016- The World Bank and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria on Friday committed to invest US$24 billion for health in Africa over the next three to five years.

The announcement was made in Nairobi ahead of the Tokyo International Conference of Africa's Development demonstrating continued global commitment to achieve Universal Health Coverage by 2030. During the meeting, Kenya also announced US$5 million towards the Global Fund Replenishment.
