Nairobi, 7th September 2016- “Countries that have implemented the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) have posted higher agriculture productivity and stronger GDP growth as well as sharper declines in malnutrition compared to countries that have not adopted it.” This is contained in the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)’s 2016 African Agriculture Status Report (AASR) that was released today during the 2016 AGR Forum.

Arusha, 6 September, 2016: The African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfCHPR) started its 42nd Ordinary Session yesterday at its seat in Arusha, the United Republic of Tanzania, with the election of a new bureau for a period of two years.

Hon.Justice Sylvain Oré from Côte d’Ivoire has been elected President to succeed Hon. Judge Augustino Ramadhani (Tanzania) and Hon. Justice Ben Kioko from Kenya was elected Vice President to succeed Hon. Lady Justice Elsie Thompson (Nigeria).

Seychelles, 5th September 2016 - The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, through the Department of Political Affairs, AUC has deployed a Short-Term Election Observer Mission consisting only of women, to represent the Organization at the Seychelles Parliamentary Elections scheduled for 8-10 September, 2016.
