Nairobi, Kenya - 27 August 2016: The African Union and The United States of America engaged in a bilateral discussions on the situation and way forward in regards to interventions in South Sudan, Burundi and Somalia. The talks were held in in the margins of the TICAD VI Summit at the Kenyatta International Centre, Nairobi Kenya.

Nairobi, Kenya - 26 August 2016: The Ministerial Meeting of the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-VI) commenced today at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

H.E. Ambassador Amina Mohamed, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya and Cabinet Secretary, during her welcoming remarks appreciated the relentless work put in by the senior officials to facilitate and ease the work of the Ministers by preparing the draft Nairobi declaration and implementation plan over the past two days.

23 August 2016, Cape Town, South Africa – The African Union Commission and the African Minerals Development Centre (AMDC) organized a meeting of high-level geological experts from 24 to 26 August 2016 to coordinate the African Geological Mineral Information System (GMIS) Strategy. The strategy will introduce Africa Mining Vision (AMV) compliant initiatives that will improve geological and geospatial information and its use in mining and broad development processes in Africa.
