Katowice, Poland, 2 December 2018 – On the opening day of COP24 Leader’s Summit, Monday 3 December 2018, the global climate summit will celebrate Africa Day, a joint initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Union Commission (AUC), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD).

“The AU Law Week is held annually to raise awareness and promote the ratification of AU Treaties among Member States. In light of the current momentum around Maritime and Africa’s Seas and Oceans, the 2018 AU Law Week event will be held under the theme “AU Law Week: a Focus on Maritime Law” in the form of panel discussions, with insight from experts in the field of maritime and treaty law.”
