Addis Ababa-25th November 2018: Following the appointment of AU Youth Envoy on Africa Youth Day the 1st of November 2018-the first planning meeting between the AU Youth Envoy, Youth Advisory Council and stakeholders is set to take place at the AUC Headquarters. The planning session will be a two day intense strategy process envisioned as an engagement and consultative process between the AUC, the AU Envoy and Youth Advisory Council.

12 December 2018 – Nairobi, Kenya - The Economic, Social & Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union (AU) has elected Mr. Abozer Elmana Elligai from Sudan as its new Presiding Officer. Mr Elmana is the Vice-president and co-founder of Maarij Foundation for Peace and Development (MFPD), an international non-governmental organization based in Sudan. The election took place on Tuesday 11 December 2018, during the 1st Ordinary Session of the 3rd Permanent General Assembly (GA) of ECOSOCC held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Addis Ababa, 13 December 2018 – The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, received the credentials of H.E. Mr. Roland Hauser, incoming Ambassador of Austria, at the AU Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Prior to his posting to Addis Abeba, Ambassador Hauser served in Bulgaria. His previous tours of duty include Kenya from 2005 to 2009 with regional responsibility for 10 African countries, and Kuwait and Qatar.
