Havana, Cuba, 11 April 2018: The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Amb. Kwesi Quartey is in Havana, Cuba for a four day official visit. On arrival, the Deputy Chairperson visited Fidel Castro's mausoleum in Santiago de Cuba city, for a wreath laying and remembrance ceremony, to pay respects to the legendary revolutionary leader. He also signed the condolences book.

Addis Ababa, 11 April 2018: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has learned with deep sadness the news of the airplane crash that occurred today in the Algiers area, causing many victims. This tragedy afflicts not only Algeria, but also the whole continent.

On this sad occasion, the Chairperson of the Commission expresses the deepest condolences of the African Union and his own to the people and the Government of Algeria, as well as to the bereaved families. He assured them of the full solidarity and compassion of the African Union.

The Knowledge Management platform has been set up in response to the overwhelming request of the African Internet stakeholders especially during the 6th African and the Global Internet Governance Forums (IGF) held in December 2017 in Egypt and Switzerland respectively.

Addis Ababa, 7 April 2018: At the invitation of His Majesty King Mswati III, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, undertook an official visit to the Kingdom of Swaziland from 4 to 6 April 2018.

During the visit, the Chairperson had discussions with His Majesty King Mswati III on key African Union priorities and other issues of common interest.

He also met with Prime Minister Dr. Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini, as well as with Honorable Phiwayinkosi Mabuza, MP, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, in his capacity as acting Foreign Minister.
