AU-HOAI Second Ministerial Conference opens with a call for more synergies and coordination to address human trafficking and smuggling of migrants in the Horn of Africa
Sharm-El Sheikh, Egypt 4th June2016: Curbing the phenomena of Human Trafficking and Smuggling of Migrants in the Horn of Africa require more cooperation and synergies between the Core countries of the Horn of Africa and the Neighboring countries. This comes at the opening of the Second Ministerial Conference of the African Union - Horn of Africa Initiative (AU-HOAI), Saturday 4th June 2016, at the Rixos -Seagate Resort in Sharm-El Sheikh, Egypt.
Africa Strategic Grain Reserve Conference Kicks Off Next Week in Kenya June 8, 2016
Nairobi, Kenya - National governments across Africa are storing grain in large quantities, often with disappointing results.
From infestation to mold, inadequate storage facilities lead to large grain losses for many countries, while also hampering efforts to improve national food security for the poorest families.
To address this challenge, the first Africa Strategic Grain Reserve Conference is kicking off next week in Nairobi, Kenya - bringing together governments, grain traders, researchers, international organizations and innovative storage technology companies.

Outstanding Performance of Young Ladies at the 53rd Africa Day Anniversary in Burkina Faso
Ouagadougou, BURKINA FASO, 25 May 2016. The 2016 anniversary for the creation of OAU/AU was celebrated in Ouagadougou, B.F. on Wednesday 25th May. The programme was organized by the Youths Pan Africanist Association (YPAA) in the Capital City of Burkina Faso with the support of AU SAFGRAD. Hundreds of people mainly youths; University studients and representative of youths organization participated in the celebration hosted in the front courtyard of AU SAFGRAD Office in Ouagadougou.

In her message, the AU Commission Chairperson said, “Ramadan is a time for contemplation, self-reflection and devotion through prayer and fasting.”
AUC Confirms the Second Batch of participants for China’s “Seeds for the Future” programme

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 6 June 2016: Today the African Union Commission (AUC), in collaboration with the Chinese government and the Huawei global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, confirmed the second batch of ten AUC participants for training under the “Seeds for the future” programme. The Huawei global ICT solutions provider has a standing memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the AU, and one of the activities of the cooperation is the ‘seeds for the future’ programme.
