I would like to thank the Government of the United Kingdom for inviting us to address the Vaccines and Global Health Security Session of the G7 Foreign and Development Ministerial meeting. This is a vital and sensitive issue for Africa and the rest of the world, particularly the crucial issue of vaccines against COVID-19 and its different variants for our shared global health security.

Given the limited time, I would like to focus my remarks on three aspects: delivery of vaccines, manufacturing of vaccine in Africa before concluding the African Strategy on these issues.

The Republic of Uganda became the eighteenth (18th) African Union (AU) member state to deposit the instrument of ratification of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) at the AU Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Republic of Uganda ratified the Treaty on the 11 November 2021 in Kampala, Uganda.

AU- Common African Agro-Parks Programme (CAAPs) proposed as an Agenda 2063 Flagship Programme for the next 10 Years Implementation Plan.

African experts, stakeholders and leaders in the area Road Safety have celebrated the African Road Safety Day this year on the 21st November 2021. The African Union Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the World Bank and the Office of the United Nations Secretary General Special Envoy for Road Safety have joined hands to discuss Road Safety priorities in the African continent and raise awareness on the status of road safety on the continent. The ceremony which took place on 24th November 2021, was organized through videoconference.
