The African Union convened a three-day continental technical experts’ meeting to develop a new continental strategic framework and action plan on drug control and crime prevention in Maputo, Mozambique from 18th to 20th November, 2025. This meeting follows the backdrop of a comprehensive end-of-term evaluation of progress by Member States in implementing the nine strategic pillars of the African Union Plan of Action on Drug Control and Crime Prevention (2019 - 2025).

Alexis Lamek, Ambassador of France to African Union. The exchange focused on preparations for the Africa–France Summit “Africa Forward”, to be co-hosted by Kenya and France and scheduled to take place in Nairobi in 2026, during which the two ambassadors conveyed the invitation to the Chairperson.
