The gathering forms part of the African Union’s (AU) at Expo 2020 Dubai strategic events, driving focus by way showcasing and popularising activities of the Department of Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development; which is entrusted to champion, amongst other key projects, the GMA.

The African Seed Access Index (TASAI-VISTA) Dashboard was launched during the 22^nd Africa Seed Traders Association (AFSTA) Congress, from 28 Feb - 03 March 2022, after one year in development. The new, interactive digital tool seeks to measure, track, and compare enabling environments for competitive seed systems serving Africa across time and space.

The African continent's dependence on natural resources and rain-fed agriculture has calls for urgency in meeting commitments to climate action and disaster risk reduction.

This serves to inform all members of the media that the Africa CDC weekly press briefing to share updates on COVID-19 response in Africa will NOT hold for this week, as the director, Dr John Nkengasong is unavailable.
