African Union Commission (AUC) through the Africa Internet Exchange System Project organized a workshop in collaboration with Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and Postal & Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) to validate the SADC Regional cross-border Interconnection policy framework. The workshop was facilitated by Nathan Associates who contracted from AUC to develop SADC Regional Interconnection policy framework. Representatives from Member States of SADC were participated in the workshop.
The African Internet Exchange System (AXIS) project aims to keep Africa’s internet traffic local to the continent by providing capacity building & technical assistance to facilitate the establishment of National Internet Exchange Points and Regional Internet Exchange Points in Africa.
As part of enhancing the regions’ cross-border interconnections, the project has been supporting Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) to develop SADC Regional Interconnection Policy Framework.
