The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. @ymahmoudali, met with H.E. Mohamed Salem Al-Rashedi, the UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia, to explore ways to further deepen collaboration between the African Union and the United Arab Emirates. They discussed enhancing UAE investments in key sectors across Africa, and the Chairperson requested for the UAE’s support for AU-led peace and stabilisation initiatives.

The AUC Chairperson, H.E. @ymahmoudali, held a meeting with H.E. Amb. Miguel Andeme, Permanent Representative of Equatorial Guinea to Ethiopia and the AU. The Chairperson commended the steadfast support of H.E. President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and Amb. Andeme to the AU'’s mandate, particularly in fostering multilateral cooperation. He also praised Equatorial Guinea’s exemplary organisation of the AU Mid-Year Summit in Malabo, a vital platform for collective dialogue on continental priorities. The Chairperson looks forward to participating in the upcoming Summit.

Their discussions underscored the strong multilateral cooperation between the AU and EU, covering peace and security, public health , and preparations for the upcoming AU-EU Ministerial and Summit. Mr Mordue reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to deepening this strategic partnership and advancing shared priorities in trade and investment for mutual prosperity.

The Chairperson of the @_AfricanUnion Commission @ymahmoudali met with H.E. @TayeAtske, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of #Ethiopia at the State House. Their discussions focused on regional peace and security, the AU’s mediation efforts in South Sudan, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as ongoing institutional reforms within the AU, including financial sovereignty and sustainable funding for peace support operations.

This afternoon, H.E. @ymahmoudali, Chairperson of the AUC, received H.E. @DrWorkneh, Executive Secretary of #IGAD to exchange on recent developments in the region. They reaffirmed the imperative of coordinated engagement on Somalia, Sudan, and South Sudan, and reiterated their shared commitment to the principle of subsidiarity and strengthened AU–REC collaboration for greater coherence and effectiveness.
