Addis Ababa, 7th May, 2018 - The Department of Trade and Industry is organizing the Dedicated Session of the African Continental Free Trade Area Negotiating Forum and Legal Experts from 30 April – 12 May, 2018 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The objective of the Meeting is to undertake Legal Scrubbing of the Annexes to the Protocol on Trade in Goods, and the Annexes to the Protocol on the Rules and Procedures on the Settlement of Disputes.

The 31st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) will take place from 25th June to 2nd July 2018, under the theme “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation”.

The Summit will be held in Nouakchott, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, as follows:

25th – 26th June 2018: 36th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee

28th – 29th June 2018: 33rd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council

25th June – 2nd July 2018, Nouakchott, Mauritania

ONLINE ACCREDITATION FOR JOURNALISTS NOW AVAILABLE

The Directorate of Information and Communication (DIC) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that, the online accreditation process for journalists and the media coverage of the 31st AU Summit, scheduled to take place from 25th June to 2nd July 2018, in Nouakchott, Mauritania, has been launched on the AU website: www.au.int.

Addis Ababa, 6 May 2018: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, will address the Pan African Parliament tomorrow, 7 May 2018, in Midrand, South Africa, during the opening ceremony of its 6th legislature. The Chairperson will outline the priorities of the Union and provide an update on ongoing efforts with regard to peace and security, democracy, human rights and good governance, continental integration, institutional reform of the African Union and Africa's place in the world.
