Addis Ababa, 24 September 2018 – The Seventh Meeting of the Open-ended Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs on the International Criminal Court (“The Committee”) took place on 24 September 2018 at the African Union Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in New York, USA. The meeting was convened on the sidelines of the 73rd Ordinary Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Addis Ababa, 20 September 2018: The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, concluded a two-day working visit to Gabon and the Central African Republic (CAR), on 17 and 18 September 2018, respectively. This is part of his regular consultations with Heads of States and Government of member states, to advance the African Union agenda.

On 17 September 2018, the Chairperson held discussions with President Ali Bongo Ondimba of the Republic Gabonese, who also chairs the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).

Josefa Sacko, who urged the PS’s to utilize their roles as agents of change to transform agriculture and achieve the objectives of the Malabo Declaration.

Ebola control in Butembo: Africa CDC supports the local Coordination Prevention Commission

Butembo, DRC 20 September 2018- In order to support the Congolese Government's efforts in the response to this tenth Ebola epidemic, the African Union, through the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), is contributing to this effort by providing professionals with proven skills who are actively involved in the control and eradication of the Ebola Virus Disease in Butembo city.

These professionals include experts in infection prevention and control, who are members of the Prevention Commission of the Ebola Control Coordination of the city of Butembo.

Call for Experts: African Union Cyber Security Expert Group

The African Union is calling for ICT Experts to join the African Union Cyber Security Expert Group. This is an exciting opportunity to advise the AUC on matters related to Cyber security, Cybercrime, Cyber-legislations, Online privacy and Data protection among other digital policy related issues. The AUCSEG will have up to 15 members and will serve in a voluntary, independent, personal, and individual capacity. Members of the AUCSEG must represent the 5 African regions namely Northern, Southern, Central, Eastern and Western. Two seats will be reserved for each region.

Addis Ababa, 19 September 2018: The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has received with utmost sadness and shock the news of the attack during the weekend against innocent civilians in the locality of Burayu, near Addis Ababa, in the course of which a number of people were killed and many others wounded and displaced.
