2nd Africa Skills Week 2025
Africa Skills Week is an annual continental platform established to advance Africa’s skills transformation agenda. Officially adopted by the African Union Ministers of Education and Training in 2024, it fosters dialogue, shares experiences, and coordinates action on skills development and employment across Africa.

H.E. Amb. Mbapeua Muvangua, Ambassador of the Republic of Namibia to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission.
Ambassador Muvangua commended the Chairperson’s leadership and reaffirmed Namibia’s strong support for the AU Commission’s mandate.
They also exchanged views on peace, security, and development in Africa, and underscored their shared commitment to deepen cooperation in advancing the continent’s priorities and addressing common challenges.

At today’s urgent session of the AU Peace & Security Council, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission expressed deep concern over developments in #Madagascar.
He reaffirmed the AU’s firm rejection of any unconstitutional change of government and called on all Malagasy actors—civil, military, and political—to show restraint and pursue dialogue within the constitutional framework.
He underscored that the AU stands ready, in coordination with @SADC_News and the Indian Ocean Commission, to support a peaceful, inclusive, and African-led solution to the crisis.

Ali on his appointment and expressed confidence that his wealth of diplomatic and leadership experience will contribute significantly to advancing inclusive dialogue, reconciliation, and the full implementation of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

Today, the African Union joins the global community in commemorating the “International Day of the Girl Child” under the powerful theme: “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis.” This theme calls us to recognise not only the disproportionate burdens girls face in times of conflict, displacement and climate disaster, but also the extraordinary leadership they demonstrate in shaping solutions.
