Report drawn from a study covering 50 selected cities

The Urban Resilience Knowledge Series Report, commissioned by the African Union Commission (AUC), has reiterated the need to put resilience in cities at the centre of development.

The reflection was shared on 8 September 2025, at an event themed “Accelerating climate resilience for urban development: key reflections from the AU Urban Resilience knowledge Series Report”, held on the margins of the 2nd Africa Climate Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The African Union Commission (AUC) successfully concluded the Pan African Conference on Teacher Education (PACTED 2025) on Friday, October 3, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The three-day conference brought together ministers of education, policymakers, development partners, and educators from across Africa to advance strategies for teacher training, recognition, and professional development, under the overarching vision of transforming Africa’s education systems through empowered and motivated teachers.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, extends his sincere congratulations to H.E. Khaled El-Enany, former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on his election as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
