Addis Ababa, 3 January,2020: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, is deeply concerned at the deterioration of the situation in Libya and the continuing suffering of the Libyan people.

The various threats of political and military ingerence in the internal affairs of the country increase the risk of a confrontation, whose motives have nothing to do with the fundamental interests of the Libyan people and their aspirations for freedom, peace, democracy and development.

Among the precious lives lost were university students; women and children the very future of Somalia, as well as Somali national security forces.

Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 26 December 2019 H.E Joaquim Raphael Branco, Former Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe has arrived in Bissau as Head of the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM). Dr. Joaquim Branco was received upon his arrival by His Excellency, Amb. Ovidio M.B. Pequeno, Special Representative and Head of the AU Liaison Office in Guinea Bissau.
