THE PARTIES,

AWARE THAT, weak regulatory systems have resulted in the circulation of substandard and falsified (SF) medical products in many of the African Union Member States;

COGNIZANT THAT the existence of SF products poses a risk to public health, harms patients and undermines confidence in healthcare delivery systems;

Arusha, Tanzania, 24 August, 2017: The Department of Political Affairs of the African Union Commission (AUC) convened a meeting of the Human Rights and Transitional Justice Cluster of the African Governance Architecture from the 24 – 26 August 2017 in Arusha, Tanzania. The purpose of the meeting was to provide inputs to the draft plan with the aim of finalising the draft of 10 Years Action Plan on the Human and Peoples Rights Decade in Africa before submitting it to wider stakeholder consultations.
