The A.g PATTEC Coordinator, Dr Gift Wanda representing the AU-PATTEC, attended the 85th General Session of the World Assembly of OIE Delegates which was held from 21 to 26 May 2017. The General Session brings together OIE Members and observers from international organisations that have signed an official agreement with the OIE, as well as other international and regional organisations and invited guests.

The PATTEC Coordination office represented by A.g. Coordination, Dr Gift Wanda, has participated on workshop aimed at Strengthening National Planning in the Formulation and Implementation of Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis Intervention Programmes in member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The Workshop was held on 24 – 28 April 2017, in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso and it was organised by IAEA in collaboration with PATTEC-Burkina Faso, AU-PATTEC and FAO. The major output of this workshop was the identification of a regional project.

The 5th PATTEC Steering Committee meeting was held on 30th November 2016 at the Africa Union Commission Headquarters, Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The SC meeting commended the 15th PATTEC Meeting for coming up with key recommendations and adopted the report with minor proposals to refine the wording. The meeting was attended by the key PATTEC Steering Committee members.
