The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received the credentials of H.E. Antonios Sgouropoulos, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic (Greece) to Ethiopia & Permanent Observer to the AU.

The Chairperson commended the historical friendship between Africa & Greece, acknowledging Greece’s historical contributions to philosophy, culture, & democratic governance.

The Second Edition of Africa Skills Week (ASW 2025) officially opened today at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, marking a major milestone in Africa’s collective effort to transform its human capital landscape and accelerate industrialization.

With Africa’s young and rapidly growing population, the event underscores the continent’s urgent need to bridge the skills gap, leverage the AfCFTA, and turn its demographic dividend into a driver of inclusive and sustainable industrial growth, in line with Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, warmly welcomes the signing of an agreement in Doha, State of Qatar, between the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Congo River Alliance (M23 Movement). This agreement establishes a crucial mechanism for the supervision and verification of a permanent ceasefire.

The 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) officially opened in Algiers, Algeria, under the theme “Boosting Intra-African Trade for a Sustainable Future: Innovation, Value Addition, and Green Industrialisation.” The Fair, hosted by the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and co-convened by the African Union Commission, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), and the AfCFTA Secretariat, gathered thousands of delegates, including Heads of State, Ministers, senior policymakers, private sector leaders, and international partners.
