The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this morning received the Letters of Credence of H.E. Mrs Birgitt Ory, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.

The Chairperson expressed confidence that Ambassador Ory’s tenure will further strengthen the longstanding & strategic AU–Germany partnership. They both underscored the importance of the upcoming AU–Germany High-Level Dialogue in advancing & streamlining priority areas of cooperation.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this afternoon received a high-level United States delegation led by the Deputy Secretary of State, H.E. Christopher Landau. The delegation also included the Commander of U.S. AFRICOM, General Dagvin Anderson.

At this evening’s UN Security Council debate, High-level UNSC Public Debate on 'Reaffirming the International Rule of Law: Paths to Revitalize #Peace, Justice, & #Multilateralism', AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf reaffirmed Africa’s unwavering commitment to multilateralism and the international rule of law.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, today received the Letters of Credentials of the new Permanent Representative of #Kenya to the AU, H.E. Amb. Galma Muke Boru.

The Chairperson noted that Amb. Boru’s extensive diplomatic experience will be a valuable asset in advancing the AU’s mandate and strengthening African multilateralism.
