It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. The Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) of the African Union Commission (AUC) hereby announces that the online registration for journalists interested to cover the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Heads of State and Government scheduled to take place from 11th - 15th February 2026, has been launched on the AU website. These two sessions will be preceded by that of the Permanent Representatives Committee.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received the Members of the AU Panel of the Wise at AU Headquarters for an exchange on preventive diplomacy, peace and security reforms, and emerging challenges across the continent. He commended the Panel’s sustained engagements in conflict prevention and mediation, and reaffirmed the Commission’s full support for the Panel’s strategic contribution to sustaining African-led peace and stability
African high-ranking officials, composed of Director Generals, Chiefs, and Heads of Immigration of African Union Member States, academia, and migration experts, have gathered in Cape Town for the 9th Pan-African Forum on Migration (PAFoM IX), focusing on how technology can improve border management to facilitate human mobility, regional and continental integration, and international trade across the continent.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Mahmoud Ali Youssouf visited Kinshasa, where he met with H.E. President Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo to exchange views on developments in the Great Lakes region. He reaffirmed the AU’s support for the DRC’s territorial integrity and its commitment to the Washington and Doha processes, as well as to regional dialogue.
The 16th High-Level African Union Private Sector Forum (AU PSF) successfully concluded its three-day session in Djibouti, held from December 08 to 10, Dec 2025. The Forum gathered leaders from government, the private sector, and continental bodies under the theme: "Harnessing Africa’s Digital Economy and Innovation for Accelerating Intra-Africa Trade and Sustainable Development".
