The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. @ymahmoudali, this afternoon addressed the commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the #Palestinian People held at the UN Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa.

He noted that the African Union stands firm in its historic and principled support for the inalienable rights, dignity, and quest for freedom of the Palestinian people.”

The African Union Commission (AUC), in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Uganda, celebrated a landmark achievement in the implementation of the African Women in Processing (AWIP) Initiative, as Uganda announced major progress toward establishing its first Women-Led Industrial Parks. This milestone was highlighted during the Fourth African Women in Processing Forum (AWIP Forum), held on the margins of Africa Industrialization Week 2025.

The Chairperson reaffirmed the African Union’s unwavering commitment to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including the pursuit of a two-state solution as the most viable path for a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace.

The African Union (AU) successfully convened its inaugural African Union Digital Agriculture Conference (DAC), under the theme: “Shaping Agricultural Policy for Africa’s Future: Innovation, Climate-Smart Practices, and Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development,”. The high-level gathering held from 1-3 December 2025, at the AU Headquarters, concluded with a renewed continental commitment to leveraging technology to transform Africa’s agri-food systems.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, condemns in the strongest possible terms the horrific reported attacks in Kalogi, South Kordofan, in which more than 100 civilians, including dozens of women and children in a pre-school, who were reportedly killed. The deliberate targeting of children, educators, medical personnel, and civilians seeking to assist the wounded, as reported in media accounts, represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law.
