Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 11th May 2018: African Union Commission Deputy Chairperson Amb. Kwesi Quartey met with Li Zhanshu, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People's Congress of the People’s Republic of China at the African Union Headquarters on Friday, where both leaders renewed their commitments to consolidate and deepen the longstanding African Union- China strategic partnership. China has for long been one of Africa’s most important allies, with significant Sino-Africa history, dating back to the colonial and liberation struggles.

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, 08 May 2018: The Commissioner for Political Affairs, Amb. Addis Ababa 7th May 2018: Experts and senior officials from Ministries responsible for Gender and Women affairs from all African Union (AU) Member States convened for the Third Ordinary Session of the African Union Specialized Technical Committee on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (STC-GEWE), which kicked off, today 7th May 2018, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The 31st Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) will take place from 25th June to 2nd July 2018, under the theme “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation”.

The Summit will be held in Nouakchott, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, as follows:

25th – 26th June 2018: 36th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee

28th – 29th June 2018: 33rd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council
