The African Union Commission through the financial support of the European Union is investing in 49 sub-Saharan Countries in the form of new Climate and Weather equipment’s better known to the Meteorology community as ClimSA 2025 and PUMA Stations. These systems are the backbone systems that will allow the expert at the African Meteorology Institutions to receive, process, and use high quality weather and climate data for decision making to save lives and live hoods of the citizens.

H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, addressed the AU Peace & Security Council on the sidelines of #UNGA80 in New York today.

He expressed gratitude to President João Lourenço of Angola for convening this vital high-level meeting on “Re-energizing Conflict Prevention & Resolution in Africa”—a theme underscoring Africa’s shared responsibility.

The African Union (AU) represented by the African Union Commission (AUC), today, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), to promote and develop cooperation on matters relating to the control and elimination of NTDs based on equality and mutual benefit in line with the agenda 2063. Organized in the margins of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80, the signing ceremony took place at the Permanent Observer Mission of the AU to the UN, in New York, USA.

Montreal, Canada–23 September 2025: Africa has arrived at the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), taking place in Montreal from 23 September to 3 October 2025, united and determined to strengthen its global voice. The African Union Commission (AUC), working with the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) and the AU Member States, is presenting eight African countries as candidates for election to the ICAO Council—signalling a historic step in advancing Africa’s role in international aviation governance.
