The Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2) concluded with a clear call to position Africa, not as a victim of climate change, but as a driver of solutions and the next global climate economy. ACS2 was convened by the African Union Commission (AUC) and hosted by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, in Addis Ababa, under the theme: “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa's Resilient and Green Development”.

Communiqué of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on the Occasion of the International Day of Democracy
On the occasion of the International Day of Democracy, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, reaffirms the fundamental importance of democracy, the rule of law and good governance for peace, stability, and sustainable development on the continent.
The Chairperson recalls the normative frameworks adopted by the African Union, in particular the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, which remains the reference instrument guiding Member States in their efforts to consolidate democratic institutions and promote citizen participation.
African Union Commission (AUC) and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) welcome the QUAD outcome on Sudan
The AUC and IGAD have received with keen interest the Joint Statement issued by the Quad comprising the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America on the conflict in Sudan.

The United Arab Emirates and the African Union today marked a productive deepening of their strategic partnership during an official mission by H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), in Abu Dhabi.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, was warmly received in Abu Dhabi by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. Their wide-ranging discussions focused on strengthening UAE-Africa cooperation in green energy, infrastructure, technology, & trade, with a view to driving sustainable growth.
They also agreed to deepen collaboration on peace & mediation efforts & other contexts that require stabilisation like Somali, under the leadership of the AU.

H.E Ambassador Mohamed Edrees, was officially welcomed on September 4, 2025, by the African Group of Permanent Representatives (P.R) of African Union (AU) Member States to the United Nations (UN), during their weekly briefing meeting at the Mandela Conference Room of the Permanent Observer Mission of the AU to the UN.
The meeting was presided by H.E Amb. Mohamed Dabo, P.R of the Republic of Guinea, and African Group Chair of the month of September.
