Algeria’s liberation remains one of Africa’s most powerful symbols of resistance against colonialism and a cornerstone of the continent’s broader liberation movements.

Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, received H.E. Dr. Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, President of INTERPOL. The Chairperson commended INTERPOL’s vital role in promoting global security and law enforcement cooperation, and thanked Dr. Al-Raisi for his support to AFRIPOL.

The Chairperson & Dr. Raisi reaffirmed their commitment to deepening AU–INTERPOL collaboration to combat transnational crime and enhance the rule of law across Africa.

He reaffirmed their central role in delivering on continental priorities for integration, peace, security, & resilience, in line with AU protocols.

He underscored the importance of institutionalised coordination, & joint planning to help achieve AU Agenda 2063.
