The "Catalytic Actions of the Joint AU-ILO-IOM-ECA Programme on the Governance of Labour Migration for Development and Integration in Africa (JLMP Action)" project was launched in Ethiopia. This was the latest national launch for selected African Union Member States and Regional Economic Communities (RECs), following similar unveilings in Malawi, Cote d’Ivoire and Cameroun over the past few months.

Addis Ababa, 23 July 2022: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, HE. Moussa Faki Mahamat, is following with deep concern, the recent developments of insecurity in Tripoli, and calls on warring parties to silence their guns by refraining from all forms of violence in deference to the yearnings of the Libyan People for peace.

The Chairperson deplores the loss of life resulting from yesterday’s clashes between rival armed groups and emphasizes that the security of civilians is an obligation under International Humanitarian Law.

Addis Ababa, 22 July 2022: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat welcomes the signing by Russia and Ukraine of agreements under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the export of grain and agricultural products via the Black Sea.

The Chairperson of the Commission commends all the Parties on this successful development.
