29th September 2018, South Africa; The African Union, is in the process of erecting a historic monument and African women’s sculpture garden at its Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as a symbolic gesture for the great contributions that women of Africa and those in the Diaspora, have made in the liberation struggles against apartheid and colonialism, and the role they continue to play in the development of the Continent.
ECOSOCC call for application for elections into the 3rd General Assembly
The Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of the African Union (ECOSOCC) was established under the provision of Articles 5 and 22 of the AU Constitutive Act. Its Statutes, adopted by the AU Assembly in July 2004, define it as an advisory organ composed of different social and professional groups of AU Member States.
PATTEC Participates at the 3rd WHO Stakeholders’ Meeting on Gambiense HAT held at WHO Headquarters, 18-20 April, 2018
The Acting PATTEC Coordinator, Dr Gift Wanda represented the PATTEC Coordination Office at the 3rd WHO Stakeholders’ Meeting on Gambiense Sleeping Sickness that was held at WHO Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland, 18 - 20 April, 2018. Participants to this meeting were drawn from sleeping sickness affected countries and NGOs, resource partners, academic and research institutions; and international organizations that are currently supporting the fight against sleeping sickness.

Deputy Chairperson of the African Union concludes official visit to Gambia
Banjul, Gambia; 26th February 2018 – The African Union Commission Deputy Chairperson Amb. Kwesi Quartey concluded a two-day official visit to Banjul, where he paid a courtesy call to the President of the Republic of The Gambia H.E. Adama Barrow. He expressed the Commission’s confidence in the ability of the government and the Gambian people, to consolidate the gains made since the political transition, acknowledging the ongoing reforms in Gambia’s civil service and the efforts that have gone into the socio-economic development of the country. Lusaka, Zambia, February 28, 2018: The African Union Commission is holding the Regional Workshop on Accelerated Domestication of the AU Malabo Declaration by Member States and Regional Economic Communities. The AUC through the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), has been supporting countries to implement the decisions of the AU 2014 Malabo Declaration on Africa Accelerated Agricultural Growth and Transformation (3AGT), by domesticating them into country specific National Agriculture Investment plans.
