Addis Ababa, 4 November 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco from 3 to 4 November 2017. This was the first visit of the Chairperson of the Commission to Morocco since its widely welcomed return to the African Union.

The Chairperson of the Commission was received at the Rabat Royal Palace by His Majesty King Mohamed VI with whom he had in-depth discussions on a number of key issues of strategic importance that are currently occupying the African Union’s attention.

This visit, which will be the first since Morocco's return to the African family, will provide an opportunity to exchange views on a number of priority issues for the African Union.
