The Chairperson of the African Union Commission H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf concluded a productive meeting with H.E. President Paul Kagame in Kigali today, expressing gratitude for Rwanda’s leadership in Africa’s digital transformation. The Chairperson commended Rwanda for hosting the Global AI Summit on Africa and its pioneering efforts in innovation and technology.

Their discussions also covered Rwanda’s key role in the AU, including contributions to governance, regional security, and conflict resolution. The Chairperson acknowledged and praised Rwanda’s commitment to AU reforms.

Speaking at the High-Level Panel on Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Global AI Summit on Africa, H.E. This March 2025 in Bangui, Central African Republic, through its Ministry of Transport, hosted the twentieth PRESAC-20 workshop, coordinated by the African Union Commission (AUC) Sustainable Environment and Blue Economy (SEBE) Directorate under its Meteorology unit, the Intra-ACP Climate Services and Related Applications (ClimSA) Programme. This seasonal workshop aims to support the Central African Region (ECCAS) in organizing the Central African Seasonal Climate Prediction Forum (PRESAC).
