The African Union (AU) Permanent Mission to the People’s Republic of China and the African Group of Ambassadors in China are organising the “Strategic Reflection on the Implementation of the FOCAC Action Plan 2025-2027 through an enhanced Synergy and Alignment between the AU Agenda 2063 and FOCAC Commitments”, from 2 to 3 December 2025, in Beijing, China.

The Executive Committee for the Strategy for the Harmonization of Statistics in Africa (SHaSA II) successfully kicked off its crucial meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 26 December 2025. Hosted by Ethiopian Statistics Service, the meeting brought together distinguished representatives from AU organs, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), National Statistical Offices (NSOs), and development partners to review progress and strengthen the framework for a robust, modern, and coherent African Statistical System (ASS).

H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, this evening received H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, on the sidelines of the Oran Process in Algiers.

President Tebboune congratulated the Chairperson on his election and reaffirmed Algeria’s full support for his mandate. They held a productive exchange on peace and security, diplomacy, and development across the continent.
