H.E. @DCP_Haddadi, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, received @WHOAFRO Director Prof. Mohamed Yakub Janabi this morning where they discussed enhancing the AU–WHO partnership.

They agreed on developing joint action on Africa’s health agenda, with the Deputy Chairperson reaffirming the AUC’s commitment to deepen strategic collaboration under the existing MoU to address the continent’s health priorities.

The Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2) will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from September 8-10, 2025. Co-convened by the African Union Commission and hosted by the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The biennial summit will be held under the theme “Accelerating Global Climate Solutions: Financing for Africa’s Resilient and Green Development”.
The two strategic pillars of the ACS2 would be showcasing the Africa led Climate Solutions and unlocking climate Finance.

The African Union Commission Women, Gender and Youth Directorate through the AU Innovation Lab (AU InnoLab) in collaboration with AU-CIEFFA, GIZ African Union, UNITAR, UN Women and with the support of the World Bank, is proud to announce the selection of the top 20 young innovators for the "AU Go Gal!" Innovation Initiative. These young African women, aged 20-25, were chosen from over 400 submissions to participate in the 9-month program.

The African Union Commission (AUC), through the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Unit of the Sustainable Environment and Blue Economy (SEBE) Directorate, convened the third governance and coordination meetings for the Africa Multi-Hazard Early Warning and Early Action System (AMHEWAS) Programme on disaster risk reduction. Hosted by the government of the Republic of Ghana, the Technical Working Group meeting took place from July 23 to 25, 2025, followed by the Steering Committee meeting on July 26 in Accra.
