On 20th September 2025, the African Union’s Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) and Cambridge University Press & Assessment (Cambridge) signed an agreement to work together on education initiatives that will help shape the future of teaching and learning across Africa.

The agreement was signed in New York on the sidelines of the just concluded 80th United Nations General Assembly.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, is closely following the ongoing developments in the Republic of Madagascar.

The Chairperson has learnt with regret the manifestations in Antananarivo, which have led to reports of the destruction of socio-economic activities.

The Chairperson expresses concern over the ongoing developments in the country and calls for restraint and calm, while encouraging dialogue to resolve the situation.

Facility seeks to mobilise US$225 million to meet its objectives                   

The African Union Commission (AUC), through the Directorate of Sustainable Development and Blue Economy (SEBE) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resilience Hub for Africa, jointly launched the Community Recovery and Resilience Facility (CRRF) on the margins of the Second Africa Climate Summit (ACS2), held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, H.E. Lerato D. Mataboge, addressed the 42^nd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly, urging Member States and partners to support Africa’s eight candidates for election to the ICAO Council to ensure that the continent’s aviation priorities are reflected in global decision-making.
