H.E President William Samoei Ruto (PhD), President of the Republic of Kenya and the African Union Champion on Institutional Reform. H.E. Ruto was appointed during the 37th Assembly of Heads of State and Government in February 2024 to champion the AU Institutional Reform process taking over from the H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda who led the implementation of the reform process since 2016.

Addis Ababa, March 1st, 2019: The Fourth Africa Climate Resilient Investment Summit ACRIS IV under the theme Africa: Towards A Climate Resilient Future will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa from 6th – 7th March 2019.The two days program will be dealing with investments for climate resilience in the sectors of Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Sustainable Development.
The Africa Climate Resilience Investment Summit (ACRIS IV) is in its fourth year, following the highly successful ACRIS III, that was held in Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco.

Health is at the Heart of Africa’s Developmental Agenda
ADDIS ABABA, 21st FEBRUARY 2019: The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Kwesi Quartey, has said that health remains at the heart of Africa’s continental developmental agenda. In his opening address to a joint technical meeting on Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) held at the African Union Commission (AUC) headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 21 and 22 February 2019, he assured participants of AUC’s commitment to creating synergies for controlling and preventing the spread of EVD across the continent.
Addis Ababa , 20th February 2019: Representatives of African Union Member States met at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa to discuss how to establish an Africa CDC Health Situation Room that will connect health information systems from different African countries.
The Situation Room is a software application developed by UNAIDS, which directly accesses HIV/AIDS information systems within Member States and produces flexible and readily comprehensible reports for decision-making by health officials.
February 27, 2019, Addis Ababa: The African Union Commission’s Department of Rural Economy and Agriculture (DREA) and the AUDA-NEPAD last week organized a workshop for the Training of Trainers on the AU Malabo Declaration Biennial Review process.
