Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 6 May 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda for a Consultative meeting taking place on 7 May 2017. The meet was convened by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, who has been mandated by the Assembly to lead the institutional reforms process of the African Union.

The Chairperson of the AU Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat and President Paul Kagame will convene with members of the Permanent Representative Council (PRC) and the Executive Council to discuss the implementation of the AU reforms.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 28 April 2017: The African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, has welcomed the outcome of the appeal case of the former Chadian President, Hissène Habré, filed at the African Extraordinary Chambers (AEC), in Dakar, Senegal. The final judgement upheld the life imprisonment sentence passed on Hissène Habré, following the initial judgement which was delivered on 30 May 2016.
