17 December 2016- The African Union Commission, led by Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, and the Book of African Records, have signed an MoU for the research and production of a publication titled The African Factbook. The agreement was signed at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa on 8 December by Mrs Leslie Richer, the AUC Director for Information and Communication and Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, the founder and editor-in-chief of the Book of African Records.

Addis Ababa, 15th December, 2016- The African Union summit holds January every year at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. From the 22nd to the 31st of January 2017 January 2017, the Union will hold its 28th Ordinary session under the theme ‘harnessing the demographic dividend through investments in the youth’.

The summit will feature three main sessions:

Sudan’s new Permanent Representative presents Credentials to AU Commission Chairperson Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 13 December 2016: Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representatives to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), H.E. Gamal Elsheikh Ahmed, has presented his Credentials to the AU Commission Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, on 13 December 2016.
