H.E Amb. Selma Malika Haddadi received on 16 June 2026, on behalf of H.E Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission; H.E. Jakaya Kikwete, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania and High Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.

A discussion on a wide array of issues was held on H.E Kikwete’s mandate, lauding his critical role in the AU’s efforts to silence the guns and promote Peace and political stability in the country.

African Union Commission (AUC), through its Department of Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development (HHS), has successfully concluded a four-day Humanitarian and Free Movement of Persons (FMP) Assessment Mission to the Republic of Rwanda, undertaken from 08 to 11 June 2026. The mission delivered a tangible expression of African solidarity through a USD 500,000 solidarity gesture fund to the Government of Rwanda, alongside essential non-food item (mattresses) valued at USD 11,500.
