The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, joined AU leaders, international partners, UN agencies, & regional organisations at the AU High Level Meeting on the #Ebola outbreak, convened & chaired by H.E. Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi and Chairperson of the African Union.

The Summit served as a platform to mobilise urgent political commitment, financial resources, & operational support to strengthen Africa’s collective response to the outbreak & reinforce continental health security.

As Muslims across Africa and around the world mark the beginning of the Hijri New Year 1448 AH, the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission extends his greetings and best wishes for peace, good health, and prosperity.

The Hijra stands as a timeless reminder of faith, compassion, and the pursuit of justice; values that continue to inspire our collective efforts towards peace, unity, and human dignity, said the Chairperson.

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, welcomes the peace agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran that was announced today by both the parties and the mediation team.

The Chairperson encourages all parties to remain committed to the full implementation of the agreement and to continue advancing efforts that promote lasting peace, stability, and cooperation in the Middle East and beyond.
