The Department of Political Affairs (DPA) of the African Union Commission (AUC) will convene a virtual meeting on COVID-19 Pandemic and Transitional Justice in Africa on 3rd June 2020 from 11h00 to 13h00 East African Time. The meeting will be hosted by H.E. Amb. Minata Samate Cessouma, the Commissioner for Political Affairs, African Union Commission and will be organized in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR).

The Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) declared a new outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) on 31 May 2020 in Mbandaka, the country’s northwest Équateur Province. The declaration followed notification by the Équateur provincial health authorities of community deaths on 23 and 30 May 2020.

The virtual peer-learning consultative meeting was convened in collaboration with the Association of African Electoral Authorities (AAEA) and Regional Economic Communities’ networks of EMBs.
