The conference, co-organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Government of Switzerland, took place from 15-16 July 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The dinner brought together some 100 personalities from various African countries. 13 July 2019, Addis Abeba: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat strongly condemns the terrorist attack that took place in Somalia’s port city of Kismayo on 12 July 2019.

He expresses his sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wishes a swift recovery to those injured in the attack.

The Chairperson also wishes to reiterate the firm and continued solidarity of the African Union with the people of Somalia in their pursuit for peace in their country.
