Addis Ababa 10 December 2010 - African Ministers of Economy and Finance will from 16 to 17 December 2010, converge in the capital city of Cameroon, Yaoundé, within the framework of an Extraordinary Conference of African Ministers of Economy and Finance (CAMEF) organised by the Department of Economic Affairs of the African Union Commission (AUC).

Meanwhile, the Conference of Ministers will be preceded by a meeting of economic and financial, and legal experts scheduled to take place from 13 to 15 December 2010.

Steering Committee gathers in Addis Ababa ahead of PIDA Week

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - 4 October, 2017: The Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) Steering Committee today concluded its two-day deliberations on the current status, the challenges and ways to improve the implementation of the continental programme, which will come under strong review at the PIDA Week, slated to be held from 10 to 14 December in Swakopmund, Namibia.

In his opening remarks, the Director for Infrastructure and Energy at the African Union Commission highlighted some of PIDA’s achievements since its inception in 2012.

The Commission is organizing the Third Session of the Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Finance, Monetary Affairs, Economic Planning and Integration as per Decision Assembly/AU/Dec.227(XII), reconfiguring the Specialized Technical Committees (STCs) and Decision Assembly/AU/Dec.365(XVII) requesting the Commission to operationalize the STCs form January 2013 and to abolish sectoral Ministerial Conferences.

Monrovia, 8 October 2017 – H.E Mr. Erastus J.O. Mwencha, former Deputy Chairperson of the African Union has arrived in Liberia as Head of the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM). A champion of regional integration, H.E Mr. Mwencha held the position of Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission for eight years (2008 – 2016). Mr. Mwencha was received upon his arrival by Honorable Axel Marcel Addy the Minister of Commerce and Industry.
