Addis Ababa, Ethiopia - 3 August 2016: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma wishes all the athletes from African Union Member States who will be participating in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The opening ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games will kick-off on Saturday, 5 August 2016, at 2:00 AM local time, and end on Thursday, 25 August 2016.

Johannesburg, South Africa - 3 August 2016: The African Women’s Chartered Accountants Association honoured Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, with the “Woman of Substance Award.” The Award was handed over by Adv. Thuli Mandonsela, South Africa’s Public Protector, during a ceremony that took place at the Kyalami Theatre in Midrand Johannesburg, South Africa, on 2 August 2016.

New Study Shows Undernutrition Taking a Huge Toll on Ghana’s Economy
ACCRA – The economy of Ghana is losing some GHC4.6 billion (US$2.6 billion, or 6.4 percent of GDP) a year to the effects of child undernutrition, according to a new study launched today in the capital.

Beijing, China 29 July 2016- A coordinators’ meeting on the implementation of the follow up actions of the Johannesburg summit of the Forum on China-Africa cooperation (FOCAC) was held in Beijing from 28 to 29 July. South Africa co-chaired the meeting with China on behalf of FOCAC. The African Union Commission was represented by H.E Fatima Haram Acyl, Commissioner of Trade and Industry, while Mr Moussa Faki Mahamat, Foreign Minister of Chad represented the African Union. Chad is the current chair of the AU. Over 300 delegates at ministerial and senior levels attended.
