At the invitation of the Government of the Republic of The Gambia, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat has deployed an African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to observe the parliamentary elections in The Gambia which are scheduled to take place on 6th April 2017.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – 31 March 2017: The Chairperson of the African Union (AU), Commission H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat has congratulated the newly elected members of the Executive Bureau and Heads of Clusters of the AU Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC). The elections took place on 30 March 2017, during the 2nd Permanent General Assembly meeting in Cairo, Egypt.

27-31 March 2017 – Cairo, Egypt – The Economic, Social & Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) has convened for the 2nd Ordinary Session of the 2nd Permanent General Assembly for a period of five (5) days in Cairo, Egypt.
