February 11, 2025 – Paris, France – Africa's economic potential is set to soar with the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which could contribute up to $1.5 trillion, or 6% of the continent’s GDP, by 2030. This growth is expected to fuel key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and fintech, driving much-needed innovation across the continent. With Africa’s young, tech-savvy population, the continent is uniquely positioned to actively participate in the global AI revolution.

In a significant stride towards unifying Africa’s skies and advancing economic integration, the Republic of Malawi has officially signed the Solemn Commitment to join the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM). SAATM, a flagship project of the African Union’s Agenda 2063 aims to establish a unified air transport market across the continent enchaining Africa’s broader economic integration efforts.

On the sidelines of the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, African leaders convened for the annual high-level press briefing on malaria, reaffirming their commitment to ending malaria and accelerating progress towards elimination.
