37th Session of the AUDA-NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee

Background

During the African Union Summit in Nouakchott, Mauritania, in 2018, African Heads of State and Government approved the establishment of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD). The decision was officially taken to transform the NEPAD Planning and Coordination Agency into the African Union Development Agency as the technical body of the AU. The AUDA-NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) provides leadership to the NEPAD process, sets policies, priorities and the programmes of action.

The 37th Session of the HSGOC will receive opening statements from:

· H.E Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and Chairperson of the NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC);

· H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of African Union Commission; and

· H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Chairperson of the African Union.

Journalists are invited to cover the official opening ceremony and participate in the press briefing at the African Union Conference Centre during the closing session of the HSGOC, which will be presided over by incoming Chairperson of AUDA-NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee.
