The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr. Kwesi Quartey, led the Commission on Thursday, July 25, to mark the African Day of the Sea and Oceans at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The theme of the event was Towards a Globally-binding Instrument on Marine Biological Diversity in Areas beyond National Jurisdictions”.

H.E. Kwesi Quartey, Deputy Chairperson of AUC, has received a team of 10 Recruitment Experts selected from the 5 Regional Blocs to help develop and revamp the recruitment system for the Commission. The meeting took place today, 22 July 2019, in his office at the AU Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The aim of the exercise is to help the AU retain high-quality African talent to push through the Agenda 2063.

Le vice-président de la Commission de l'Union africaine, M. Kwesi Quartey, a reçu S.E. Salvador Antonio Valdes Mesa, premier vice-président du Conseil d'État et ministre de la République de Cuba. Les deux parties ont débattu de l'actualisation du protocole d'accord signé entre la Commission de l'UA et Cuba et des moyens d'approfondir les relations entre Cuba et l'Union africaine.
